In his reply, the Minister of Sport & Recreation, Rev Makhenkesi Stofile, enforced Prof. Gloeck's stated importance of the PFMA and said that it was not easy to obtain achievements of this nature. A lot of work, sweat and tears went into the preparation of financial statements. But in the end it is all worth the effort. He quoted a well- know Afrikaans saying: "Wie met trane saai, sal met vreugde maai" (those who sow with tears, will harvest with joy). As he explained his close interaction with the Department, it was clear that the Minister takes personal responsibility and also exercises strong leadership. The Minister used another example to stress his point: "Kasty dié wat jy lief het" (Be hard on those you love).
