CEO’s Note
Firstly, I’d like to thank our sponsors and partners once again for their contribution towards the hosting of the SAIGA 2nd Annual Conference.
The hybrid conference attracted well over 150 delegates, who travelled from far and wide to be part of the two-day proceedings in Pretoria last month.
In many respects and by all accounts, the summit was a success, and the outcomes as well as spinoffs thereof will support our continued efforts to develop and strengthen the Institute.
The conference reaffirmed the urgent need for audit and accounting staff to support the development of good administration and help state agencies, departments, and other bodies achieve clean audit outcomes to improve effective service delivery and good governance.
But our programme for the year is not complete.
Three further regional thought leadership seminars will be held in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, and Limpopo.
The spring seminars are intended to give accounting and auditing professionals a forum to discuss various issues that are having an impact on the industry and the public sector, as well as a chance for our subject matter specialists to share their in-depth knowledge and expertise.
The themes that will serve as a guide for this are: Igniting and fostering pride in the public sector, Forensic auditing and ethics in the public sector, and Cybersecurity and Data Analytics in the public sector.
We invite corporate South Africa to collaborate with us on the seminars, together with industry professionals and SAIGA members.
